• Send a Spontaneous application: the good old spontaneous application is still effective. It is about sending your CV to a company without it having published or issued a need for recruitment. This therefore allows your CV to end up in the Company CV library of your choice.
• Use a placement company: the placement companies in Cameroon like CAMS are real human resources professional. These help job seekers find the right job for them. The search becomes easier because the placement companies very often already have recruitment needs issued by the companies. In addition, they are free and ensure your job security.

Stages of job search

When looking for a job, most applicants don't know where to start. Follow the next steps so you don't get lost.

First stage : identify the position that matches your profile.

Identifying the position sought allows you to adapt your CV. Depending on your profile you can actually search for a job accountant, bookkeeper, marketing director, HR manager, salesperson, secretary, intern webmaster, etc. Moreover, if you have several profiles, create several different CVs.

Second step : identify sectors of activity or companies likely to hire you.

Regardless of your area of expertise, you must list or target companies likely to hire you. Then, collect as much information as possible on each of them, optimize your application and stand out from other candidates.

Third step : choose one or more means of sending applications and apply.

Once the research has been done and the recruiter information collected, send your application either by email, either you file it in physical application (on the premises of the company) or in the form spontaneous application. However, some companies have websites where you can fill out a form for sending online application in a few minutes.

Fourth step : prepare for the job interview.

Because a job interview cannot be improvised, it is important to prepare it well. If you've waited a long time, this is your opportunity to sell yourself to your future employer. However, before your interview, remember to memorize the requirements of the position to be filled, the skills required, etc. You should also learn as much as possible about the company and the people currently occupying this type of position. Fifth step : persevere.

No one is saying it's easy to find the right job for you. Be aware, however, that the more effectively you apply, the more likely it is that you will be called for a serious interview. So don't give up on the first 10 refusals or after going unanswered.

Invest in your job search

While you are looking for a job you must, among other things, invest:

• Time: send as many applications as you can and for each application a CV and a suitable cover letter.
• Patience: be patient. Good things sometimes take a long time to come.
• Skills development: indeed, it is important to develop human skills in addition to your technical know-how. Develop skills in negotiation, analytical skills, communication, creativity and many others that will make you the candidate to have on his team. For this, you may need training.
